Who I AM

My photo
Hello everyone, I am 23 years old and a Physical Education. I graduated from SUNY CORTLAND upstate New York. I am currently getting my masters in HPER at Emporia State University in Kansas.I currently work at Malverne High School as a leave replacement for physical education. I also teach 1 health and physical education class at the middle school for their district. I love volleyball and I am very competitive. I like challenges and being pushed to my limits. I've done some amazing DVD workouts such as Insanity and Insanity Asylum and P90X2. They can change your physical appearance tremendously. Your results are based on what you give in, how much you will push yourself, how much pain you can take and keep pushing knowing it will only benefit you. How much sweat are you willing to sweat? I believe that every person in this world can make a difference in a positive way, my way is by teaching. This blog is mainly from my undergraduate degree but I tend to add more post as I continue my career.

Field Day

How many of you all loved when you had field day in your elementary and middle school years? Well, I was one of those students that loved this day. Field day always consisted of a whole day of different sports and activities that you and your team competed in throughout the day. This was a day that you missed all your main class such as English, Math, Science, and History. Field Day was always a competitive day, no one wanted to finish last and everyone wanted to be the number one team. The best thing about field day is that it gives the students who are not that active a chance to be active all day long instead of just their normal 40 minutes of PE class every other day. Today I went to Cortland APEMS event that was "field day." I was excited to compete in this and hopefully come out victorious by winning some prizes. When I got there I was a little upset because I expected a lot more people to be participating. We waited for a while to see if more competitors would come. The girl who was running it put up posters all over campus last week hoping to attract students. I felt bad because the amount of people that showed up was disappointing for all of the hard work she had put in. We ended up just making two teams and competing with each other in basketball, volleyball, wiffle-ball, and kan jam. Although we were lacking in the amount of people, it still did get pretty intense. I have a natural competitive spirit and I hate losing. My team ended up winning and we got to pick our prizes first. I chose the backpack that you fill with water and drink out of the tube, It was called the "hydro pack." This backpack will be very useful for me when I go on long runs and when I go skiing. I am happy I went to the field day, and I hope that next year will be a better turn out. It was snowing and cold out so most people probably just stayed in their dorms. We need to inspire students to be more physically active.
