Who I AM

My photo
Hello everyone, I am 23 years old and a Physical Education. I graduated from SUNY CORTLAND upstate New York. I am currently getting my masters in HPER at Emporia State University in Kansas.I currently work at Malverne High School as a leave replacement for physical education. I also teach 1 health and physical education class at the middle school for their district. I love volleyball and I am very competitive. I like challenges and being pushed to my limits. I've done some amazing DVD workouts such as Insanity and Insanity Asylum and P90X2. They can change your physical appearance tremendously. Your results are based on what you give in, how much you will push yourself, how much pain you can take and keep pushing knowing it will only benefit you. How much sweat are you willing to sweat? I believe that every person in this world can make a difference in a positive way, my way is by teaching. This blog is mainly from my undergraduate degree but I tend to add more post as I continue my career.

Blogging Is Cool

As I was deciding what to blog about today, I came across Elena Fallons blog. Today she blogged about our daily assignment of blogging. This year I am enrolled in a writing intensive class instructed by professor Yang. A requirement for him is for us to blog everyday, 7 days a week, minimum of 250 words. My first reaction when he told us about this was that I didn't want to give it a chance. I immediately told myself that I was dropping this class. I knew if I dropped it I could take it with a different teacher who was not as technologically advanced as professor Yang. I would not have to blog 7 days a week. I decided to give it a chance because I personally felt he was a great guy who knows his subject matter. I started up my blog and immediately got hooked. I was trying out all the different blog layouts that night. 2 hours later I still found myself on the site. I also wanted to stay with professor Yang because everyone that has had him in the previous years has tons of professional pictures of themselves teaching and interacting with students, and I had nothing.

When the thought of blogging 7 days a week comes to my mind, it is very overwhelming. I am a busy student taking 20 credits along with being very active with the school since I am in a couple of club sports. I also like to workout everyday so that takes up another 2 hours of my day. Did I really have the time to blog everyday? The answer to this is yes. It is not so bad after all, I find time in my classes to blog and also out of my classes. 1 problem that I thought I would come across is what to blog about everyday. This has actually not yet been a major issue, everyday something sparks my interest to blog about whether it is one of professor Yangs tweets, something that we spoke about in class, something I read, or something that I observed or personally had happen to me.

Another issue I had with the blogging at first was the worry of missing a day. I have missed 1 day so far, but I immediately made up for it by blogging twice in one day. There have been a few days that I blogged twice in one day. I can easily blog twice in one day, but not submit it until the next day, but I have not yet done that. If something sparks my mind I will just blog about it right away. I might regret this if I am ever run out of ideas, but I do not think this will happen.

Blogging is a great way to reflect on your thoughts of different topics in a public matter. I always have a lot to say but I never really publicize it. I now express myself through my blogs. One thing that is absolutely great about blogging is that anyone on the Internet can come across your blog and it could potentially lead to a future job. It is also great because it can bring about a debate with people you have never even met before if they comment on your post it can become a debatable topic. When I become a future physical education teacher, I will definitely incorporate a blog site. I will not require my students to blog everyday of the week, but there will be blogging done throughout each unit. I am happy that I chose to stay with professor Yang because I am becoming more knowledgeable with the different ways that technology can enhance my learning and developmental skills. "Are you blogging?"
