Who I AM

My photo
Hello everyone, I am 23 years old and a Physical Education. I graduated from SUNY CORTLAND upstate New York. I am currently getting my masters in HPER at Emporia State University in Kansas.I currently work at Malverne High School as a leave replacement for physical education. I also teach 1 health and physical education class at the middle school for their district. I love volleyball and I am very competitive. I like challenges and being pushed to my limits. I've done some amazing DVD workouts such as Insanity and Insanity Asylum and P90X2. They can change your physical appearance tremendously. Your results are based on what you give in, how much you will push yourself, how much pain you can take and keep pushing knowing it will only benefit you. How much sweat are you willing to sweat? I believe that every person in this world can make a difference in a positive way, my way is by teaching. This blog is mainly from my undergraduate degree but I tend to add more post as I continue my career.

HIIT The Gym With Insanity

The floor looks like a puddle, my grey tank top is now soaked and dark grey, gasping for every ounce of air and my face looks like a stop sign, bright red… and I am smiling because I love it. This is a daily habit for me and I feel lost without it. I am involved in the beach body program, “Insanity”. Before each workout a warning sign comes on the scream stating that this is not for the average person, you must commit to fit and be ready for High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) created by Shaun T. This is the new frontier of losing weight, burning calories and sculpting workouts. HIIT is substituting the old logn and boring cardio routines, like long and slow runs, bikes, etc. HITT is known to increase your metabolism and keep you burning calories. The key is in what is called EPOC (Extra post-exercise oxygen consumption), a process happening at the end of the workout and the oxygen consumed after the workout. Today in professor Yangs 8 a.m class he introduced us to this HITT. Some students had no clue nor ever heard of this, but I have because I’ve been doing it with Insanity. He used Tabata-Clock to set our interval times and the rest time and how many sets we were going to perform. Interval training gets your blood flowing and heart is pumping profusely. After we did this HIIT workout, I was no longer sleepy. I was wide-awake and zoned into my learning experience. Insanity is a 60 day workout program that I suggest you all to attempt. You must dig deep and push through the 40-55 minute workouts for that day, 6 days a week. I am currently doing the newer program, “Insanity Asylum.” This workout is when you go from insane to elite. The program is shorter in length only 30 days. Insanity you focused on cardiovascular endurance and total body condition. The new Insanity Asylum works on improving balance, agility, power, strength and coordination. You will jump higher and improve your athletic performance. I completed Insanity twice and Asylum I made it half way through before getting surgery on my shoulder that took me out of commission for 6 months.  I am also doing P90X2 because I truly want that “beachbody”. “Sometimes I ask myself why I am doing this, but it is because I want to look good.” Do you have what it takes to DIG Deep?
