Who I AM

My photo
Hello everyone, I am 23 years old and a Physical Education. I graduated from SUNY CORTLAND upstate New York. I am currently getting my masters in HPER at Emporia State University in Kansas.I currently work at Malverne High School as a leave replacement for physical education. I also teach 1 health and physical education class at the middle school for their district. I love volleyball and I am very competitive. I like challenges and being pushed to my limits. I've done some amazing DVD workouts such as Insanity and Insanity Asylum and P90X2. They can change your physical appearance tremendously. Your results are based on what you give in, how much you will push yourself, how much pain you can take and keep pushing knowing it will only benefit you. How much sweat are you willing to sweat? I believe that every person in this world can make a difference in a positive way, my way is by teaching. This blog is mainly from my undergraduate degree but I tend to add more post as I continue my career.

Underdog Or Prepared

If you follow basketball or not, I am sure that you heard of the rising prodigy Jeremy Lin. Lin who is of Chinese decent received no athletic scholarship out of high school while he lead his team to a state championship for California. Lin went on to the Ivy league school Harvard to pursue economics and play basketball. Lin became one of the best Ivy league basketball players of all time. He was the first to record 1,450 points for the Ivy league division. Lin went undrafted in the 2010 NBA daft, even after the success he had for himself and the success he brought to Harvard. He was unwanted and never given the true chance to demonstrate his talent. He worked hard day after day to improve his shooting game. He spent countless hours training himself to compete with some of the best NBA players. When he got his first chance to truly demonstrate himself since he was replacing Carmelo Anthony, one of the best players in the game, he shinned like a star. It was February 4th when Lin shocked the world with his career highs of 25 points, five rebounds, and seven assists that all contributed to the Knicks 99-92 win over the New Jersey Nets. When someone comes off the bench and has a great game it is usually said that it was "luck" or that the person "glitches" and it will not happen again. This was not true for Lin. Lin scored 89, 109, and 136 points in his first three, four, and five career starts, respectively, all three of which are the most by any player since the merger between the American Basketball Association(ABA) and the NBA in 1976–77. He went from a nobody to one of the most talked about people in the NBA and created a success story that will live on forever. Lin made the world respect the Chinese decent that he has. Diversity should be accepted throughout the NBA and the world and no matter what decent you are, you should get an equally chance just like anyone else. Lin was no underdog, he was prepared for when the opportunity was given to him. The team's success due to Lin's play reportedly contributed to the end of a dispute which had for 48 days prevented Time Warner Cable customers from watching Knicks games and other MSG Network programs. Lin is the real thing and he is continuing to show his fans that hard work and never getting discourage is the key to fame. Linsanity continues.
