Who I AM

My photo
Hello everyone, I am 23 years old and a Physical Education. I graduated from SUNY CORTLAND upstate New York. I am currently getting my masters in HPER at Emporia State University in Kansas.I currently work at Malverne High School as a leave replacement for physical education. I also teach 1 health and physical education class at the middle school for their district. I love volleyball and I am very competitive. I like challenges and being pushed to my limits. I've done some amazing DVD workouts such as Insanity and Insanity Asylum and P90X2. They can change your physical appearance tremendously. Your results are based on what you give in, how much you will push yourself, how much pain you can take and keep pushing knowing it will only benefit you. How much sweat are you willing to sweat? I believe that every person in this world can make a difference in a positive way, my way is by teaching. This blog is mainly from my undergraduate degree but I tend to add more post as I continue my career.

Fattest States In America

Image Taken From Google.
The sun is shinning and there are tons of students walking around campus. Today, March 20th is the first day of spring. Many students are playing different sports and getting involved with different outdoors activities. In the winter, a lot of people are dormant and are not physically active. Thinking about this, a topic sparked my interest. I wanted to find out if there is a correlation with people living in colder areas and obesity. I assumed that yes there would be because the colder it is, the less people are moving around outside being physically active. I quickly researched this topic and found out some interesting information for 2011. Colorado is known to be cold and I found out that it is the only state with an obesity rate below 20 percent. The state with the highest rate of obesity is Mississippi. 34.8 percent of the population in Mississippi has hypertension. They have also been the top for the past 6 years. I was shocked to see the other states that had a high rate New York is ranked 41st on this list. . My assumption was wrong and I am now interested to find out what causes these states to be so high. You can find out the top 10 fattest states Here. You can also see the full ranks for all 50 states at this Link. If anyone has any other information that is interesting please leave me a comment.
